120 Guests Trapped For 5 Days At California Ski Area By 8 Foot Blizzard

120 guests at Montecito Sequoia Lodge in Northern California were snowbound for 5 days after 8 feet of snow made the access road to the resort located in Kings Canyon National Park impassible.  Rescue crews hopped on snowmobiles to confirm the guests and staff were okay until the road could be reopened. They had enough food and water to wait for rescuers to arrive:

“Physically they were fine. They were obviously happy to go home.” -Alicia Embrey

After 5 days of hard work road crews were able to clear the 8 miles of road which had 20 trees strewn across it slowing down and complicating matters. Happy to report everyone was evacuated in a slow moving convoy and nobody was hurt.
