The controversial forest troll at the East Wellington Trailhead in Breck has gotten an official reprieve for the time being despite being despised by a group of outspoken locals.

Tourists have been flocking to the wooden art installation by Danish artist Thomas Dambo and a town council has voted 5 to 2 to let “Isaac” stay for the time being. Parking problems, noise and host of other unwanted nuisances have plagued the neighborhood adjacent to Isaac creating friction with the locals but in an area where the economy is tourism based it comes with the territory.

The Breckenridge troll is just one of 38 installations around the world. Dambo’s Instagram is great way to see the rest of his work GO HERE.

“I’ve made 37 and this my 38th wooden troll around the world. They’re all part of a fairy tale.” –Thomas Dambo
