VIDEO: Why It’s A Good Idea To Rope Off When Busting Cornices

There’s a difference between a little pole whacking at the top of a resort line on a powder day and doing serious cornice mitigation before dropping into a backcountry run.  The latter can be can have serious consequences if you don’t take proper precautions.
