WATCH: How “The Crazy Canucks” Broke The European Stranglehold On 1970’s Alpine Skiing

YouTube Poster

Very interesting chapter from the history of ski racing featuring a group of Canadian skiers that broke the European stranglehold on the alpine skiing circuit around the times of the Innsbruck 1976 Winter Olympic Games with a borderline reckless style that earned them the name the “Crazy Canucks.”

Here are three of the Crazy Canucks in a 2017 interview reviewing footage from their racing days. Make sure to pay attention @1:50 to see a hay bail wallride that would make Bode Miller proud:

***The CBC did a full length tv movie about the team in 2004. You can watch it on Amazon Prime HERE
