“Replays showed that at least two snowballs were thrown at Kristoffersen during his second run, one appearing to hit him.”

Norwegian skier Henrik Kristoffersen was pelted with snowballs at the World Cup slalom on Tuesday in Schladming, Austria.  While it didn’t seem to slow him down much, he did come in second behind local legend Marcel Hirscher.

Rueters reports once at the bottom Kristoffersen told Hirscher what happened as the pair shook hands and the Austrian, looking surprised, replied, “Oh really? I’m sorry.”

Henrik Kristoffersen who lives in Austria had this to say about the incident:

“It’s really a lack of respect… a race in Schladming is like a home race for me so it’s not cool,”

Despite the snowballs ever the sportsman Kristoffersen admitted Hirscher was the better skier today:

“I would not have beaten him even if there were no snowballs. Marcel was better today. We are in a league of our own. This battle is really great.”

Kristoffersen was also pretty cool about it on his Instagram post race:
