This incredible story comes to us from Hollyburn Mountain on Saturday, located just north of Vancouver, when a group of backcountry skiers stumbled upon an avalanche rescue in process and pitched in to save the life of a buried skier that got caught in an avalanche that sent him tumbling over a 60-metre (197ft) cliff.

The buried skier suffered a pelvic and leg fracture, but is expected to make a full recovery.
