“The dog dug in and started to pull the back of my jacket and I knew at that point, if I could get an arm or a leg free and get my leg untwisted, I had a chance of getting out and helping the kids.”

These three lucky Canadians have a golden name Zoose and some fast acting neighbors to thank for rescuing them after a snow fort the were playing in collapsed, burying them under an estimated 1,200 pounds of snow as reported by globalnews.ca.

While we encourage playing in snow in all its various forms, let this story be a lesson to us all that an activity as innocent as building a snow fort can turn deadly in an instant. If you do decide to make a snow fort, make it an absolute ironclad policy that one person stays outside at all times in case of a collapse.
