Idaho Ski Patrollers Save One Of Their Own

Volunteer ski patrol is no joke. That fact is obvious after Marvin Heilesen, a 51-year-old ski patroller, recovers from a full cardiac arrest– all thanks to the fast thinking of his fellow volunteer ski patrollers.

The event occurred on December 10th at Pomerelle Mountain Resort in Idaho. Heilesen’s fellow life-savers performed CPR on the ski patroller for about 40 minutes until an ambulance arrived. The mostly-volunteer unit used an automated external defibrillator (AED) to help save Heilesen’s life.

The resort said that because it is a non-profit organization, it relies heavily on donations from the public to purchase updated rescue equipment.
