WATCH: Avalanche In ECUADOR Caught On Film…

When you think of an equatorial nation you probably don’t think of avalanches but anything is possible when you add in elevation.  The below video was shot on El Altar, an extinct Ecuadorian volcano with an elevation of 17,451 ft.

Interestingly the volcano got its name because it reminded Spaniards of two nuns and four friars listening to a bishop around a church altar. In older English sources it is also called The Altar.
