There may not have been a bigger letdown at the 2014 Sochi Olympics than Shaun White’s performance in the half-pipe. That performance, which included a crash in his first run in addition to a fourth place finish left many wondering, how much longer can the “Flying Tomato” compete in organized events?

The answer, his career is far from over as he just told Access Hollywood that he plans to compete in the 2018 Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea.

White who won the Breckenridge Dew Tour event at the beginning of the year made headlines after X games officials black-balled him from the event. According to an ESPN spokesperson, the Winter X-Games invitation process is not something that their organization discusses publicly.

However, that snub is not stopping White. As witnessed in his Access Hollywood interview, Shaun seems stoked to return to the Olympics for what will be his fourth time. This time, the Flying Tomato will travel to South Korea in hopes of securing his third olympic gold medal in half-pipe.
