It is being reported that a school group of 10 children and their teacher triggered an avalanche in the French Alps today that led to multiple fatalities.
The slide occurred at the French ski resort of Les Deux Alpes in Isére, France at 3:45pm local time today.
The avalanche was triggered on a black ski run that was closed at the time. Avalanche danger in the area is “High” following a massive snowstorm this week.
At the time of this post it has been confirmed that two children are dead, four are seriously injured and five are missing. A Ukrainian skier was also killed in the slide.
