The search for Monty Busbee has been temporarily halted due to increased avalanche danger in the Snoqualmie Pass area that is experiencing continuing snow.  The 43 year old skier’s family has not given up hope. His sister spoke with KOMO News and said, “I would certainly think if someone can survive, he can. He knows what to do in this situation, and he’s prepared for it.” Busbee is well known for being an avid outdoorsman who is always well prepared for extended backcountry trips.

Authorities had to call off the his search and rescue operation for the time being but remain  optimistic. King County’s Search and Rescue team member Alan Labissoniere said,“He could be in a snow cave. He could be under a tarp, just waiting for us.”

Conditions are looking unfavorable for the continuation of the search until Thursday but hopefully a window of opportunity will open before then. Our thoughts and prayers are with Monty and his family.
