Fluted spines and cathedrals of metamorphic rock make up the spires and walls of the church of the Chugach, dwarfing the “magic carpet” at lower left as it rested between trips ferrying us to the best runs of our lives.

Some of the Unofficial crew was lucky enough to visit Cordova, Alaska and Points North Helithe last week of April.  They flew two days with Points North Heli and were treated to skiing in some of the most beautiful mountains in the world.  Fortunately, professional photographer Grant Kaye ended up in their heli for the two fly days.  Grant is an incredible photographer and we feel very lucky to have him share his perspective of Cordova, Alaska with us here today.

Unofficial Networks founder Tim Konrad slices through the feathery Chugach pow of lower Salt Lick, one of our favorite runs at PNH. According to legendary guide Jason Mack (Jmack), it’s called Salt Lick because you can’t help but keep going back to it for more. I think we skied it four times in one day?

A mysterious spire of granite juts above the clouds above Juneau, Alaska, catching the purple rays of the dying day as they splashed below the flight that carried us back to Tahoe.

Miles Clark is dwarfed by the massive frosted peaks of the Chugach dreamland in the Crusty Critter zone of PNH, about to drop in on what he would proclaim was “the best run of his life.” At least until the next run.

Eric Bryant makes the last turns of the trip in soft afternoon light down the shoulder of Salt Lick just before the clouds came in and chased us back to base for a killer gourmet dinner and as much Sierra Nevada as we could possibly stand.

A hungry bald eagle swoops off the water of the Orca Inlet near Cordova, AK after snatching a fish from the water with it’s deadly talons.

Big thanks to Jason Mack and the whole crew at Points North Heli Adventures.
