Almost Made It | South American Summer Shredding

December 26th, 2011 by

With a waning start to a La Nina winter here in California, the dreamy feeling of floating through thick pow is beginning to fade to a foggy memory.  But alas, we must hold on hope (or simply fly to Alaska, where they have received copious amounts of snow, just remember a head lamp!).  The nature of La Nina is feast of famine and ours shall come soon enough.  But in an effort to stave off the insanity, we bring you the South America B-Reel footage!!  A few weeks ago we posted a quick highlight video of our favorite clips from South America this summer, now sit back, pop some corn, and enjoy 3 minutes and 46 seconds of almost bliss.  Or just go outside and play with your new Christmas presents!

A wintery wonderland that will hopefully be returning to Tahoe!

What do you guys think, is winter going to start spooling up later this week?  Or are we going to continue to curse La Nina, not because the Bitch is Back, but because she is remaining conspicuously absent around California?

At least the extended shoulder season gives us time to get the legs in shape for skinning!

UnofficialAndes’ South America 2011 | Summer Skiing | Video Radness

December 7th, 2011 by

This past summer in South America was spectacular…depending on where you were.  It seemed to snow every four of five days for four or five days in Patagonia & Las Leñas had a couple all-time weeks.

This video was filmed in Las Leñas, Argentina, Bariloche, Argentina and in the backcountry that surrounds them both.

Regardless of where you may have been this summer in South America, you had fun because there’s so much more to it than just the skiing and riding.  It’s a whole other world.

Snow, Sleds, and Hot Springs | Spring in Caviahue, Argentina

October 7th, 2011 by

As the snow is starting to fall in the northern hemisphere, the season is coming to an end in the south.  But, there is still some good riding to be had.  Traveling to Caviahue, Argentina in a converted bus towing a couple of snowmobiles, a crew of riders found a quality place enjoy as the snow is melting away.

Venturing high enough resulted in some pockets of midwinter snow, while all over great spring snow could be had a different times of the day.  Capping it off were many thermals resulting is some pretty amazing hot springs.  A pretty solid way to finish of a day of sledding and riding on the Argentina, Chile border.

Swatch Skier’s Cup | Europe Kicks Americas’ ASS | Big Mountain Day Video Highlights

September 7th, 2011 by

Well, as expected, the Euros STOMPED us in the Big Mountain comp. They’re squad is pretty deep in that genre.  But, we’ve definitely got the better squad for the Backcountry Slopestyle day.

But, I’ve gotta say, I think I respect the ability to charge the big mountain more than the ability to hit groomed jumps into pow.
