TJ David Getting After it at Alta

April 16th, 2011 by

TJ David made this rad edit a week to highlight all the raddness of April this year. I dig his hard charging style and the massive front flips off cliffs. Also, the straightline at 1:11 is impressive. Enjoy!

More Face Shots than Jenna Jameson: Today @ Snowbird

April 14th, 2011 by

Another April storm crushed Snowbird last night as Powder Months continues. If you have been thinking about coming to Snowbird this April, but didn’t you screwed up huge. There was more snow flying up into your face today than at a 70′s disco party. It was nuts. After catching first tram on Reg only things really started blowing up off the backside of the Cirque. The tram line was friendly until about 10:00, then it got kinda mean. I am feeling what the guys at Squaw are talking about now. It really sucks to stand in a half hour tram line while Peruvian sits idle, just so Snowbird can save about $60 an hour in labor. The season is still on guys WTF?

Spring Skiing Continues…for now…

April 13th, 2011 by

The sun was in and out today which made for a good combo of decent spring snow and occasional visibility. After taking a casual stroll out to Tiger Tail to check out the fresh spring slop out there it was back to Chips for more jibbing around. Today our guest jibbers were Simon Harwood and Nate Blouin. All anyone could talk about was tonights storm. I hope it hits super hard, because pow skiing is a bit more fun than spring skiing. We are looking at 7-14″ tonight according to NOAA

Highlights from the JFT at Snowbird

The Juniors crushed it this past weekend at Snowbird. If you think the young kids can’t keep up with you, you are very very wrong. These kids are sick and threw it down hard. I think I saw at least 4 or 5 new lines that I have never seen the adults do. This video is a little long, but it is good the whole way through. Enjoy…

Soft and Springy: Jibbing on Chips

April 12th, 2011 by

After another week of powder skiing at Snowbird we settled in for a little spring riding again. Todays trams were less than half full and the snow was wet and fast. That made for some good jibbing action on Chips and such. I got linked up with snowboarding AK native brothers Garrett and Connor McCarthy as well as Gavin Smith and Nate Blouin and we went to find some jumps. These single plank brothers know how to have a good time and they were spinning and flipping into the soft spring pow left and right. Keep an eye to the sky for another big storm rolling in tomorrow night…

Nate Hucking some Mineral

April 11th, 2011 by

Video and word from Mr. Nate Blouin.

After a long trip to southern Utah with Jeremy Koons (check out the trip report at http://jkoonsphoto.blogspot.com/) and my buddy Matt, I rolled back into SLC hoping for a good night sleep and a little sunny shred. It was freezing during the night spent in a tent to get the Southern goods.

Sweet New Edits from Tim and Tom

April 11th, 2011 by

Tim Normand put together the first video of the day from his skiing adventures over the last few weeks. If you dig the Sendit brand you should give some props to Tim. He co-founded the company with Sick Board Award winner Robert Hurley. You can like them on FB at Sendit Threads. Maybe they will even sell you a hoodie if you are cool enough.  Click read more to see the other video…

More April Powder at Snowbird Plus JFT Championships

April 10th, 2011 by

April is officially powder month. I have been saying all year that we ski in December, January and February so that we are in shape for when the real season arrives in March and April. This April is not disappointing us in any way whatsoever. It seems like we have had six or seven storm days with a couple bluebird pow days in between. The sun has not even been doing a number on the snow yet. That could all change soon if the storms stop rolling in. As most ski resorts are getting ready to close or have already closed the resorts in LCC are still building base.

Deep Pow Crushing You in the Face!!!

April 8th, 2011 by

It was deep today at Snowbird. Crazy Deep! Deep enough that it would have been worth quitting your job to be there this morning. The Junior Freeskiing Tour is in town and the young fellas and fella-ettes were shredding on Silver Fox today for the qualifier. I was planning to watch a bunch, but got caught up skiing all that pow.

Kenjiro Matsuo – Back in Action….Kinda

April 8th, 2011 by

Kenjiro made it out of a shaken up Japan just in time to shred some sick Utah pow. Unfortunately he busted himself up on like his sixth day here by going 40 feet to rocks in the Forbidden zone. (See video at 0:55) His ankle injury has not slowed him down too much, because he is way tougher than you will ever dream of being. Check out the edit he put together in just 10 short days in Utah. So lets see, Kenjiro just survived a deadly earthquake, flew to the US, got hurt and has been here only 10 days total and he already made a quality edit. What is your excuse for not having one yet?
