Have to admit that I didn’t know this little piece of bear safety protocol. Thanks to John Gookin of the International Conference on Bear Research and Management for providing this public service for the folks up in Alaska and to our audience. Lets hope if you have a bear encounter, you don’t even need to pull that tab on your spray.
Who thinks they should have better educational opportunities at our national parks so people understand the dangers of wildlife encounters and how to avoid them? We need more wooden bears and guys like Mr. Gookin!
