During a press conference this week, some of NASA’s top scientists will discuss 50 different and revealing discoveries related to Pluto.
One of which is standing above all the rest.
According to The Scientific American, reports of volcanoes that spew ice and snow are coming out of NASA. Such volcanoes are extremely rare in space and are referred to as cryovolcanoes. Instead of hot lava flowing from a molten core, ice and ammonia (or methane) are being exhumed from the peaks observed on Pluto.
The two peaks in question, Wright Mons and Piccard Mons range from 3-6km high and are located on the south pole of Pluto.

These findings are extremely revealing into the outer reaches of our solar system. Dynamic forces seen in these two peaks debunk our dead-perception of Pluto and the far reaches of our solar system. Instead, Pluto is fairly active with alleged cryovolcanoes populating the surface of what was once perceived as a desolate and ice-covered landscape.
The alleged cryovolcanoes also point to what might be a heat source located within the planet’s core.
