Much of the west has been suffering from a lackluster winter with many ski resorts already throwing in the towel. Ski areas in California and the PNW have been having particularly pathetic seasons (just 9 percent of average for Tahoe) but down in New Mexico it’s a different story.
Taos Ski Valley is celebrating some late season dumps and good spring conditions by extending their season. Taos will be pushing back its closing date till April 12 allowing for one more weekend of skiing and riding.
Taos will also be slashing lift tickets to just $49 for an adult day ticket($10 off Taos’ standard spring pricing). If you got a season pass from any other resort in the country and pay just $40.
Also helping with the extended season is Tao’s new Kachina Peak lift that opened this season. The new lift reaches a hight of 12,450 feet where the high-elevation slopes that hold snow longer into the spring.
**Lifts 1,2 & 4 will run from 9:00am-4:00pm – Kachina Peak will run from 9:00am-3:00pm
