A strong winter storm is moving into the area today and rain will turn to snow showers this evening across much of Colorado’s Front Range reports NOAA.

The heaviest accumulations should fall on and between Berthoud and Loveland Passes with up to 15″ forecasted by Saturday afternoon.
“Heavy snow is expected today and tonight in the mountains and foothills. 4 to 11 inches of accumulation in expected in the foothills with 6 to 15 inches in the mountains by noon Saturday. Precipitation should stay mostly rain in Denver as less than 1” of snow is expected.” – NWS Boulder
A Winter Storm Warning is also in effect across areas of Rocky Mountain National Park, The Medicine Bow Range, Indian Peaks, the Mosquito Range, and Summit County.

- Arapahoe Basin — 14″
- Loveland Ski Area — 12″
- Winter Park — 11″
Winter Storm Warning:
A storm system will move across Colorado from west to east through tonight. The Colorado mountains will see the highest impact from this storm with snow expected to become heavy at times Friday afternoon and evening. Embedded thunderstorms during the afternoon may help produce the heavier snow amounts. The foothills will see a mixture of rain and snow during the day Friday, with accumulations above about 7500 feet. The snow levels will lower Friday afternoon and evening, bringing a mix of rain and snow as low as the Denver area overnight. The storm will move out of the state Saturday morning, with precipitation in the mountains decreasing to scattered snow showers.
