Rossignol teamed up with mountain biker Dillon Butcher to capture some incredible rainforest freeride on Vancouver Island. They used a mix of POV, Drone, and cablecam rigs to capture Dillon’s unique flow.

You don’t necessarily think of Vancouver Island in British Columbia as a rainforest area, but much of the northern Pacific Coast experiences rainforest-like conditions. This area stretches from the Pacific Northwest to British Columbia and all the way up into Alaska.

Temperate coniferous forests tend to feature mild winters and heavy rainfall or inland mountainous areas with mild climates. The temperature fluctuates little throughout the year, and 50-200 inches of rainfall annually create a moist climate and a long growing season. Evergreen conifers dominate these areas, growing to huge heights.
