Big Sky, Montana โ Another cornerstone of the visitor experience at Big Sky Resort is nearing completion.
Yesterday, Big Sky Resort announced that its new alpine enclosure attraction will make its debut this December. Called the Kircliff, the enclosure is situated right next to the top terminal of the Lone Peak Tram. The structure is named after the Kircher family, who have helped build Boyne Resorts into one of the top ski resort companies in the country.
Situated at the top of Lone Mountain (if I call it Lone Peak, locals will get mad at me), the structure is 11,166 feetย above sea level. The tallest scenic attraction in Montana will give 360-degree views of ten mountain ranges, three states, and two national parks.
โThis reimagined summit experience transforms Lone Peak into a year-round, must-visit destination,โ said Troy Nedved, president and COO of Big Sky Resort. โKircliff unlocks the opportunity for every guest to stand on one of the highest peaks in the region and witness a horizon that stretches from Yellowstone to the Tetons.โ

Guests will be able to reach the enclosure from the Mountain Village thanks to the construction of the Explorer Gondola. Guests will ride the Gondola, then take a short walk over to the Lone Peak Tram, and then go up to Lone Peak. The total ride time between the two lifts will be fifteen minutes.
Other improvements for the 2025-26 season include the opening of the Explorer Gondola, a four-month culinary residencyย by three-Michelin-starred chef Grant Achatz, and the completion of The One & Only Big Sky resort.
The scheduled opening date for the Explorer Gondola and Kircliff is December 20, 2025.
