While patiently waiting for the FIS Freeride World Tour 2025 Georgia Pro at Tetnuldi Resort, professional skiers Maxime Chabloz and Martin Bender swapped their gear with professional snowboarders Tilden Wooley and Liam Rivera.
Chabloz is a professional kite-boarder in addition to being a professional skier, so it’s not surprising to see that he can rip on a snowboard with no problem. It seems pretty evident that both of the skiers had an easier time snowboarding than the snowboarders did skiing.
So does that confirm the most important question in the industry? Is skiing officially harder than snowboarding?
As a side note, I, a life-long skier, actually went snowboarding for basically the first time in my life this past Sunday and I felt like I was able to pick it up pretty quickly. But I think a big part of that is general experience on snow mixed with previous experience wakeboarding. Snowboarding is certainly not easy, and when you fall while learning it hurts a lot more than falling while learning to ski.
