Freeride World Tour cancels Georgia Pro.

The FIS Freeride World Tour by Peak Performance has officially cancelled the Georgia Pro, the third stop of the 2026 FWT season, citing unstable snowpack conditions that do not meet safety standards.

Following what organizers described as an extensive evaluation process involving FWT officials, mountain safety experts, and local professionals, it was determined that current structural instabilities in the snowpack would not sufficiently improve within the available competition window.

The Georgia Pro was set to bring the world’s best freeriders to the Caucasus Mountains, a venue known for its dramatic terrain and technical lines. Multiple venue and scheduling alternatives were explored before officials concluded that conditions posed too great a risk to athletes and staff.

According to FWT officials, the instability observed across potential competition faces would not stabilize in time to safely host the event. With the freeride competition relying on big-mountain terrain and natural snow structures, snowpack reliability is critical not just for athlete performance but for avalanche mitigation and overall mountain safety.

We sincerely thank the Local Organizing Committee, the local community, and our fans for their professionalism, understanding, and continued support. We look forward to returning to Georgia next season.” – FWT

The Freeride World Tour organization will now evaluate the possibility of rescheduling the Georgia Pro during the Fieberbrunn Pro weather window. A final decision regarding that potential adjustment is still pending, with further updates expected in the coming days.
