A missing 76-year-old was located by the Nevada County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue with the help of a thermal imaging drone in California on Sunday, January 11th.

According to the Search and Rescue team, 32 members and several Deputies responded to the search at approximately 7:30pm. The man had gone missing in the Powerhouse Road area.

Ground teams, E-Bike teams, UTVs, K9 teams, Jeep teams, CHYP Air 21, and Drone teams were all deployed in the search. The missing individual was located alive and well by one of the Drone teams with thermal imaging just before midnight.

Searchers spent nearly 5 hours in the field and the man was safely returned to his waiting family.
