Arapahoe Basin COO Alan Henceroth just penned a request on his personal blog to help a longtime A-Basin local who has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. A campaign on the social fundraising platform GoFundMe has been set up to help offset the costs of Todd Hanson’s ongoing medical treatment.

Alan Henceroth:

“From opening day in October until closing day in June or July, Todd Hanson has been a fixture at Arapahoe Basin for decades. Always ready to share a ride on Pali, Todd spreads the good vibe of the A-Basin community. Now it is time for the rest of us to share some good vibes. Recently, Todd was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and has begun a long journey of chemo and other treatments. For more details and to lend Todd a hand, check out the gofundme link below. All of us at The Basin are wishing him the best.”

If you would like to donate you are highly encouraged to do so HERE. Best wishes to Todd.

GoFundMe:

Our long time friend, adventure buddy, and community member, Todd Hanson, needs our help.

After seeking medical guidance for ongoing stomach pains, Todd’s reality quickly morphed into one that he could have never expected. Pancreatic cancer. Bloodwork and imaging revealed a 2.6 cm mass on 8/14.

Since then, Todd has gotten a biopsy, stent placement, port insertion, and will start chemotherapy on 9/2. The cancer has been staged at 1b which has an optimistic prognosis relative to later stages. The current treatment plan is 3-6 months of chemo followed by surgical intervention.

Please consider donating if you are able or offer words of encouragement and positivity. Any and all helps. DONATE HERE.

Todd Hanson:

WOW!! Hello everybody! I’m in as much shock and awe at the outpour of love and support from all of you, as I start down this journey to kick the shit out of my cancer. This is definitely the last thing I ever expected to be dealing with, but I’m gonna fight like a viking warrior to win this battle and get back to a life of adventure with all of you! Current update, I had a port placed last Friday (pictured below), I start my chemo treatment next Tuesday, thank god in Frisco not Denver. Treatment will be every two weeks, so we will see how I react to that real soon. I know it’s not gonna be easy by any means, so just mentally preparing for that. I’ll be sure to let you all know how it goes after next week. I wish I had time to thank you all in person, but for now, thank you all so so much for your support, it mean’s the world to me!
Love ya!
~Todd
