Pinkham Notch, New Hampshire — Not every ski area has access to great hiking trails. However, not every ski area is as rugged as Wildcat Mountain, which is located across the street from Tuckerman Ravine and Mt. Washington. Wildcat features various free hikes that guests can do, but probably the best bang for your not-needed buck is doing the Thompson Falls hike.
With a round-trip of 1.2 miles, Thompson Falls is classified as an easy route by AllTrails. Guests begin at the Wildcat Mountain parking lot and proceed to the waterfall. The route is relatively short and not too demanding. The round-trip takes around thirty minutes. A further hike up Thompson Brook includes access to more waterfalls.
Wildcat remains a fairly busy place during the summertime. The summer activities at the ski area include scenic chairlift rides, hiking, and disc golf. The scenic chairlift rides, which operate during weekends and a few Fridays, provide memorable views of the Mt. Washington Valley.
