Maine’s Sugarloaf Mountain recently completed a pretty massive expansion into their West Mountain terrain, opening a brand new chairlift and several new runs on a previously underutilized portion of the mountain.
With that expansion came the installation of some serious snowmaking systems, involving 250 HKDs from HKD Snowmakers and around 80,000 feet of pipe. It took hard work to get the system up and running, including working through one of the wettest summers on record, but HKD Snowmakers and the Sugarloaf Snowmaking team managed to get it done.
HKD Snowmakers produced this fascinating short film discussing the process that went into building such an impressive snowmaking system.
