Mt. Ashland Ski Area Closed Due To Power Outage

Southern Oregon’s Mt. Ashland Ski Area has been forced to close for St. Patrick’s Day skiing after a lingering power outage that began Sunday afternoon.

Mt. Ashland reports it lost power around 3:30pm on Sunday and Pacific Power initially projected it to be restored yesterday by 10 p.m. They are currently still without power and the new estimated time of restoration is by 3 p.m. today. Mt. Ashland is currently closed to all uphill and downhill traffic. Refunds will be issued to anyone with reservations and day lift tickets for today.

Mt Ashland will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday but that is their normal operating schedule. Read the statement issued by Mt. Ashland below.

Mt. Ashland Ski Area Statement:

The Mt. Ashland Ski Area Team regrets to announce that we are forced to CLOSE today, Monday, March 17th due to a Power Outage. We will be issuing refunds to all individuals with reservations and day lift tickets for today. The Mountain will be closed to all uphill and downhill traffic- all ski area facilities and access is closed today

The Mountain lost power at 3:30 pm yesterday. Initially, Pacific Power projected restoration by 10:00 pm last night. However, as the power was not restored, Pacific Power’s updated estimate this morning is that the restoration time will now be 3:00 pm today at the earliest.

We appreciate your support and patience at this time as Pacific Power crews work as fast as they can to get power restored.

The Mountain will be closed tomorrow, 3/18 and Wednesday, 3/19 per our normal operating schedule.
