A massive fire ignited by lightning devastated three ski-in/ski-out condos at North Carolina’s Beech Mountain Ski Resort in early hours of Sunday morning.

Several fire agencies responded to the blaze at the Snow Tree Villas which were first reported at 5:30am. There are reports of fire agencies having difficulty accessing the area due to downed trees from Hurricane Helene. Several large propane tanks caught fire and fueled the blaze. Three condos and at least two cars were destroyed in the fire. No injuries were reported.

Beech Mountain Resort was closed on Sunday, March 16th and al prior purchases have been refunded. The will resume regular operations today and continue through Saturday, March 22nd.
