A Palisades Tahoe ski patroller was injured during avalanche mitigation operations yesterday after the biggest overnight snowstorm of the 2024/2025 ski season. 22 inches of snow fell Wednesday evening into Thursday morning and ski patrol had their hands full blasting avalanche prone slopes to keep their guests safe.
The ski patroller was on their way to perform avalanche control work near the KT-22 chairlift around 8:00am when they suffered a leg injury. The patroller was taken off the mountain to get medical care. Palisades Tahoe has provided no further information on the circumstance that led to the injury or the status of the injured patroller.
Conditions at Palisades Tahoe are looking incredible today but folks should expect delays opening terrain throughout the day as “our teams perform avalanche mitigation work, dig out lifts, and get ready for the NEXT round of snow, which should be pushing into Tahoe later this morning. New snow accumulation of an additional 8-12 inches is possible.”
If you are riding Palisades Tahoe today please follow deep snow safety protocols including riding with a friend at all times, avoiding tree wells and if you are going to fall attempt to do so feet first.
