Ski Rio in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains of northern New Mexico has laid dormant since it closed one night in January 2000 and its innkeeper Joe Musich admits his job can get a little spooky. It’s not a stretch to compare Ski Rio’s lodgings to the Overlook Hotel in The Shining.

A couple years back the folks at Black Crows Skis headed out to Ski Rio to explore the grounds which seem frozen in time and eerily empty slopes and its the perfect video to celebrate the Halloween season while side serving of powder skiing. Happy Halloween!
