Hello all,
Just taking a moment between articles to say hello and tell you a bit about myself. My name is Francis Xavier and I have been working with Unofficial Networks since its inception back in 2005.
Growing up in the midwest, I skied the small ski resorts of Michigan and Wisconsin with my local ski club (shoutout Snowflakes) and spent my summers on the Great Lakes racing laser sailboats and camping with the Boy Scouts.
I attended college in Vermont where I carefully crafted my class schedule to accommodate for mid-week ski days and enjoyed all the outdoor opportunities granted studying in the Green Mountain State.
After graduation I moved to Lake Tahoe, California where I did just about every job possible that had nothing to do with my degree before landing a spot at Unofficial Networks.
Over the years I have published thousands of articles while maintaining a rigorous outdoor lifestyle and traveling the world. I love my job and I am committed to continually providing our readers with timely, factual, and relevant coverage of all things outdoors.
FUN FACTS:
-I won a writing award from my local paper when I was in second grade.
-I have skied in -60 degree conditions and my eye lashes froze shut.
-I have caught a musky.
-I have slept through 3 earthquakes on 3 continents.
-I can do a kickflip in sandals.
