The skier vs. snowboarder rivalry is unending (and frankly fun, so I don’t plan on ending it any time soon). What’s harder? Who’s cooler? Who causes more problems? There will never be a real answer. But everyone should be able to agree that monoskiing will always be the coolest.

This monoskier (or monoboarder, as the video title identifies him) is definitely among the coolest people to ride Corbet’s Couloir at Jackson Hole. He doesn’t struggle whatsoever, hitting the goat path with ease and beauty. It’s rare that you see such a clean entrance to the iconic run.

Corbet’s Couloir is not for the faint hearted. It features a 20-foot drop and a 50-degree pitch, making it one of the steepest ski slopes in North America. The iconic run is home to the legendary Kings & Queens of Corbet’s competition, set to go down between February 8-15 of this year.

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort’s How To Ski Corbet’s Couloir:

To tackle Corbet’s Couloir, start by planning your trip to Jackson Hole and brushing up on your skills. JHMR offers a Steep and Deep camp designed to help skiers master advanced techniques. Once you arrive, take a few moments to watch how seasoned skiers approach the run—it’s a perfect mix of skill and style (see the video below). Even experienced skiers find Corbet’s challenging, so only highly experienced skiers and riders should attempt to ski the Couloir. If you hope to ski the Couloir one day, but need to brush up on your skills, check out our Terrain Parks.
