Ski resort collision caught on video

Nasty ski resort collision caught on camera displays a clear cut case of why it is incredibly important to know and abide by the Skier Responsibility Code to enjoy a safe day on the slopes.

The offending skier (dressed in blue and neon green) was in violation of Rule #1: “Always stay in control. You must be able to stop or avoid people or objects” and Rule #2: “People ahead or downhill of you have the right-of-way. You must avoid them.”

Thankfully both skiers were wearing helmets which decreases the probability of injury in blindside collisions. If you are a hold out on wearing a helmet while skiing, this video should serve as a cautionary tale. Even if you trust your skills to keep youreself safe on the hill, you shouldn’t trust the abilities of others to do so. Ski resort accidents happen and wearing head protection just makes sense.

Buy helmet, wear it, be safe, have fun. Learn more about the Skier Responsibility Code below.
