Bob Maddox grew up in the 1960’s watching NASA rockets blasting off for the moon and Wile E. Coyote chasing the Roadrunner with jet-powered contraptions. From a young age Bob was fascinated with thrust powered machines and at age 10 he began building rocket powered balsa wood airplanes powered with Jetex rocket motors.

It wasn’t until much later in life that Bob’s passion for jet engines was reignited after brainstroming ways to increase his speed in free-fall while skydiving. His mind when to a schematic of a pulsejet powered German V-1 buzz bomb he saw when he was 17 and he became hooked on building pulsejet engines.

Since then Bob has made a name for himself designing and building the largest pulse-jet engines in the world. The engines have been strapped to all sorts of vehicles from skateboards to go karts to his latest invention, the jet powered Santa Sled. Cheers to the Rocketman for celebrating the holiday season in his own high octane way.

Looks like the Grinch got his own jet powered vehicle but it’s nowhere as sweet as Saint Nick’s:
