Crested Butte is home to a host of difficult and notorious ski runs, but the most famous is almost certainly Rambo. It’s probably not the hardest run on the mountain, but when it comes to intentionally manmade ski runs, very little gets as steep as this.
The run almost never has good conditions, with trees and rocks sticking out from the snow all year round and usually quite crusty coverage overtop. But it’s the steepest tree-cut manmade run in North America, so people tend to make the pilgrimage.
Even on a day when Rambo looks well covered with some fresh snow, it does not look like that much of a fun time, especially on a snowboard.
