Skiing in South America is a bucket list summer adventure for many North Americans. Looking at resort live cameras in the middle of a hot summer watching an endless amount of snow dump on the resorts of the southern hemisphere can be pure torture, so the concept of booking a summer trip to the south tends to seem like a great move.
But skiing in South America looks a good bit different from skiing in North America, and being prepared for the differences can make your trip a whole lot better. YouTuber PeakRankings went over the most shocking of these differences, ranging from mountain aesthetic to the high costs you might encounter on the mountains.
Personally most of these differences just make me want to head to South America even more, but not everyone is going to be like that. Fortunately if you’re looking for an out-of-North America skiing experience, there are plenty of other places around the world that could grab your attention.
