Grand Canyon National Park is seeking public comments in relation to a proposed increase in campground fees that would begin on April 1, 2025. The current fees have remained the same for the past 20 years.

Camping at Grand Canyon National Park

The park would increase fees for standard tent and RV sites at Mather, Desert View and North Rim campgrounds. As a part of the  Federal Lands and Recreation Enhancement Act, Grand Canyon National Park retains 80% of the recreation fees it collects, using them to improve visitor experience, services, facilities, and safety.

The proposed rates would be $30.00 per night and $15.00 with the Senior and Access pass discounts for standard tent and RV sites, while the cost for Equestrian, Group and Walk-up sites would remain the same. Prices are currently at $18.00 per night for standard tent/RV sites.

159,019 overnight tent stays and 84,332 RV overnight stays were recorded in Grand Canyon National Park throughout 2023. In total, 4.7 million people visited the park in 2023, spending $768 million in local communities.

Those who hope to share their opinion on the proposed increase can do so until December 15, 2024. Online comments can be made here, while written comments should be submitted to the following address by December 15:
