While it’s not quite ski season for our friends across the pond, a vast swath of the northern Alps got hit with a serious snowstorm over the weekend with up to two meters accumulating at high elevations.
At lower elevations the precipitation fell as rain and has wrecked havoc across central Europe with floods inundating the Czech Republic, Austria, Romania and Poland but in places like Obertauern, Austria it fell as snow. Reports out of Obertauern vary but it looks like they received at least 1.5 meters of snow.
