UNITED STATES – Timberline Lodge‘s summer skiing came to a close this past weekend, but there are still two places where you can ski, in bounds, on snow for the second to last weekend of snow. They might not be expansive, and one of them might be hike only, but you don’t have to say goodbye to skiing just because it’s almost the end of August.
Big SNOW American Dream, New Jersey
Big SNOW American Dream is an indoor ski area, yes. Located inside a mall, this will not feel like the typical ski or snowboard experience, but it’s still snow, and that means it’s still skiing and snowboarding. Big SNOW offers three ski runs, a park, two carpets, one t-bar, and one chairlift, costing $59.99 for a two hour session. It’s open all year round, from 1pm-8pm Monday-Thursday, 1pm-9pm on Fridays, 10am-9pm on Saturdays, and 10am-8pm on Sundays.
Copper Mountain, Colorado
Copper Mountain in Colorado does not have any lift served skiing or snowboarding. Currently, if you want to ride there, you’ll have to ride park, and you’ll have to hike your way up to ski back down. But, if you’re looking to keep your park skills sharp, the Copper hike-to park is the place to do it. Filled with pipes, rails, and boxes, this park is available to the public for just $25 from 10am-5pm on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
