Skiers and snowboarders often times seek out narrow chutes to test their skills on but its not often you will see a surfer pushing their limits in the confines of rock walls.
The following video was taken in Northern Japan where Dylan Graves was traveling with his Japanese surfer buddy Keito Matsuoka who urged him to check out a unique wave known as “God’s Crack.”
The legend of the rock formation goes like this: a long time ago a whale washed up and local communities fought for three days to claim the carcass. Then a lightening bolt struck the rock, splitting it in two as a sign from god that we are meant to share.
After much consternation, the pair paddled out to see if it was a doable objective and the successfully caught waves. Kanpai!
