The bear in this clip looks pretty young and small, but don’t be deceived. If the elk calf’s mother wasn’t there, it would be a pretty different video. The bear slowly works its way down the tree, waiting for the right moment where the mother elk isn’t paying attention, and attacks the elk calf. Fortunately the mother acts fast and beats the bear off the young.
