“Accidents and near misses happen. Every near miss is an opportunity for learning. We talked about being distracted right after this on the chairlift.”
Extremely close call for skier Erich Leidums who was enjoying a beautiful day on the slopes with his family when his 5-year-old daughter accidentally buzzed his tower. He used the incident as a teaching moment to explain to his daughter the importance of maintaining your attention at all times while traveling downhill. Yikes…this was a close one:
“In this video, Adia and I were skiing under the lift when her brothers were shouting to us from the chairlift above. I stopped downhill of Adia as she was looking up at her brothers. Of course, Adia wasn’t skiing slowly and was naturally distracted by the shouting voices. I’m glad she didn’t collide right into me as I am not as soft as snow. Both her or I could have gotten quite hurt but I imagine she would have taken most of it.”
