“Bill, any friends of ours who can ski that deep powder from the top deserve the best there is.”
If you’re missing Après-skiing right now, this video from Bionic Disco will help quench your thirst.
Back in 1973, Harvey’s Bristol Cream Sherry ran an après-ski-themed advertisement, which is set in a mountain chalet. They talk about their great day on the slopes and then start drinking Harvey’s Bristol Cream Sherry. The commercial stars Denny Miller, who ominously looks very similar to Donald Trump and Biff from Back to the Future. Miller starred in Tarzan, the Ape Man, and Wagon Train.
If that does not make you want to adorn a dicky and drink a fine cheap Sherry next to an open fire, nothing will. And how about that dinner jacket? That’s how you Après like a goddamn gentleman. They really don’t make skiing ads like this anymore.
