Yellowstone National Park Announces Seasonal Road Closures

The folks over at Yellowstone National Park are preparing for a long and snowy winter ahead. The park annually closes the majority of roads for the winter to allow for snowmobile and snow coach travel.

Yellowstone has announced that the West, South, and East entrances and all nearby roads will be closed effective November 1st.

October 31st will be the last day to travel in the park on the following roads:

-Mammoth Hot Springs to Norris
-Norris to Canyon Village
-Canyon Village to Lake Village
-East Entrance to Lake Village (Sylvan Pass)
-Lake Village to West Thumb
-South Entrance to West Thumb
-West Thumb to Old Faithful (Craig Pass)
-Old Faithful to Madison
-West Entrance to Madison
-Madison to Norris

All communities and local businesses near Yellowstone are open year-round.

Fall/Winter is an excellent time to visit the park to avoid the crowds and explore the picturesque snowy landscapes.
