Keystone announced yesterday afternoon that they will become the second ski resort to open in Colorado for the season on Friday, October 28th. They are opening just 5 days after neighboring ski area Arapahoe Basin.

The resort plans to spin The River Run Gondola to upload and download guests to and from Schoolmarm. Skiers can then lap the trail using the Montezuma Express Lift.

In addition to the 2 miles of skiing on Schoolmarm, the resort plans to have a hike-to terrain park on Spring Dipper.

Keystone has picked up 5 inches of natural snowfall over the last 7 days with an additional 1-3 inches falling today. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for a high of 43 degrees and sunny skies.

Get those boards waxed and edges sharpened folks. Winter is here!

Have fun out there and feel free to send any opening day photos and videos to matt@unofficialnetworks.com!
