A pilot in Colorado is in hot water with the FAA and NTSB after he crashed his small plane near Horsetooth Reservoir earlier in the month.

The pilot was seen flying erratically and buzzing by boaters before it crashed a short time later. The NTSB is still investigating the incidents, but experts are casting doubt on the pilot’s claim that mechanical issues led to the crash are false.

CBS Colorado has the full report below:

“The National Transportation Safety Board has issued a preliminary report on a Sept. 11 incident that saw a Cessna 172 buzz some boaters on Horsetooth Reservoir before it crashed.”

He’s definitely lying, right? There’s no way that mechanical issues would coincidentally cause a pilot to buzz by boaters.

Here’s hoping they strip this guy of his pilot’s license, hit him with a heavy fine, and move on from this case…
