One can only theorize what prompted this swooping attack on an adult grizzly bear by our nation’s mascot, the bald eagle. The scene went down on the banks of the Naknek River in Alaska. Who knows, maybe warding off a threat to eggs or eaglets, protecting fertile hunting ground or maybe just one of those asshole birds that seems to divebomb things just for fun. Whatever its motivation, it should be noted this eagle went straight for the eyes of the apex predator with its talons which can be up to two inches long. Taking out vision is a nasty tactic, just ask Van Damme.
