With the city of Breckenridge facing a housing crisis, along with having a lack of child care services, the Vail-owned Breckenridge Resort is stepping up to the plate to help out its employees.

CBS Colorado reports that Vail Resorts is currently conducting an application process in order to hire a child care manager for a year-round, licensed daycare facility at Breckenridge Resort. This daycare will be for employees that work at the resort, and for Vail’s corporate team as well.  They are aiming to get the daycare open by November and will have twenty spots available for workers. They are aiming to get the daycare open by November. Breckenridge will also be reopening their child care center for guests following the pandemic-filled past two years.

With there being a daycare shortage across the country, this is a necessary move by Vail Resorts. While the twenty spots are a good start, many employees still have been waiting for years on childcare waitlists. This is a great idea from Vail Resorts, and it’s something they should explore further at other properties.
