We nearly had the 2022 Darwin Award winner. Instagrammer @touronsofyellowstone posted this wild video of some guy at Bryce Canyon National Park climbing onto a fence, jumping over it, and then landing on the rock a couple of feet below. What follows is pretty brutal to watch: He lands it, then trips on a rock, and gets within a few feet of falling off the cliff. The guy who jumped over appears to be trying to have a parkour moment for some video, but it nearly cost the dude his life. Here’s your reminder to be thoughtful when you visit a national or state park, or you’ll end up looking like this dumbass.

Bryce Canyon National Park spokesperson Peter Densmore released the following statement to KSL:

“Considering that this occurred at one of the park’s most popular viewpoints and dislodged rocks onto the heavily trafficked Navajo Loop below, we are extremely thankful that no serious injuries occurred.”
